This week’s report is brought to you by Poet Laureate-elect, Peter J McKinley.
‘On a crisp Novemeber sunny afternoon, the black and gold travelled South to Slough.
For all those that have never visited Slough imagine a rolling backdrop of roundabouts and graffiti, Ralph Smith would of felt at home.
We were entertained with a model helicopter display during the warm up which was more entertaining than any of James Norris' s fun facts about himself .......
Alas I can't remember much about the game apart from Dan Sadler scoring 3 wondrous tries, one from the boot of Jackson Sayce which myself and Ian Jeffries groaned in dismay as boot struck ball but soon after turned into cheers as Dan effortlessly lept into the air to gather and dot down for his 3rd of the afternoon. Scorers also included Jeffers and Baxter from close range but none the less well executed.
I could go into every detail about the game, highlighting strong and weak points for opposing teams to dissect as we all do theres but instead I'll opt for a poem
The whistle starts
The whistle ends
After 80 minutes we're still friends
Shoulder to shoulder breathing hard
Waving bye bye to Jack after another card’
