Running a community sports club is expensive, with the costs of ground maintenance, insurance, laundry, matchday food, training equipment, and various other costs soon adding up to some pretty large sums.
Like most clubs we raise funds internally via membership fees and fundraising, but that is never enough, which is why sponsorship is an absolutely crucial factor in sustaining community clubs like Wallingford Rugby Club.

Physical Reach
Not only does Wallingford Rugby Club have a membership of over 500 members from U6s to Seniors (as well as Honorary Vice-Presidents) the majority of which will visit the club most weekends from September through to April, but we also benefit from being based at Wallingford Sports Park.
This means that we also neighbour hockey, tennis, football, squash, archery, skittles and petaque clubs, as well as plenty of summer camps that use the facilities in the holidays.
All this means that any physical advertisiing at the club is visible to over 2,500 people on a weekly basis.
Social Media Reach
In addition to the physical reach of the club, we also benefit from a large social media following that can help businesses achieve greater and more diverse penetration of the local population. With over 3,000 followers across our Instragram, Facebook and Twitter accounts, having your business's brand on club social media posts, or the club directly promoting sponsor's events can create a proven benefit for businesses.
